Triple Almond Oat Bars Recipe
Ever since i first mixed crunchy almonds with chewy oats in these triple almond oat bars, i’ve been totally hooked on the nutty, addictive vibe they bring.
I think these triple almond oat bars is a solid source of energy, combining rolled oats, almond flour and eggs for protein. I love that unsalted butter with brown sugar gives the right boost.
My recipe also uses almond butter and various almonds to add good fats and flavor.
Ingredients
- Rolled oats supply fibre and energy, making the bars hearty and filling.
- Almond flour is rich in protein and healthy fats, adding a subtle nutty taste.
- Unsalted butter provides moisture and richness, ensuring a tender, flavorful bar texture.
- Brown sugar sweetens the mixture with a hint of caramel, enriching its overall flavor.
- Smooth almond butter boosts nutty flavor and creaminess while improving texture quality.
- Sliced almonds add crunch and visual appeal, while increasing protein and key nutrients.

FAQ
- Can I use a different nut butter? Yes, you can try substituting with peanut butter, but almond butter helps bring out the triple almond flavor in the bars.
- Do I have to use all three types of almonds? Not exactly, but using sliced, chopped, and slivered almonds really gives the bars a cool texture.
- Can these bars be made gluten free? Sure, if you swap out all-purpose flour with a gluten free blend and make sure your oats are certified gluten free, you’ll be good.
- How long will these bars last? They keep well for a week at room temp in an airtight container, or up to 10 days if you store them in the fridge.
- Should I line the pan? Yes, lining your pan with parchment paper prevents the bars from sticking and makes for a smoother clean-up.
Triple Almond Oat Bars Recipe Substitutions and Variations
- If you dont have unsalted butter, try using melted coconut oil instead it gives the bars a nice subtle coconut flavor.
- When you’re out of almond flour, blending some blanched almonds into a fine meal works great as a substitute.
- If you need an egg replacment, mix 1 tbsp flaxseed with 2.5 tbsp water for each egg, it does a pretty good job binding the bars.
- Out of brown sugar? Coconut sugar is a neat swap, just use the same amount although the flavor will be a bit different.
- For all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour can be used, it gives a nuttier taste even if it might change up the texture slightly.
Pro Tips
1. Try not to overmix the wet and dry ingredients – stir just until they come together. Overmixing can make your bars tough instead of soft and chewy.
2. When you press the batter into the pan, take an extra minute to smooth it out really well. This will help the bars bake evenly and come out lookin pretty neat when you cut ’em.
3. Keep an eye on the baking time – even though the recipe says 20 to 25 minutes, every oven is different. Check the edges for that golden brown color so you dont accidentally overbake them.
4. Let the whole mix cool completely before slicing. I know it’s hard to wait, but if you cut them too soon, the bars might fall apart or get all crumbly. Enjoy your treat with a nice cup of coffee or any drink you like!
